The CPSA Academy is an exciting new national learning programme dedicated to teaching all practical aspects of the sport. Our courses are modular, designed for beginners through to advanced shooters. There are no talent barriers and no age barriers.

You can step onto the CPSA Academy learning ladder at any level that suits you best. We are the right choice, whether you are 8 or 80. We offer you flexible tuition and we operate a national network of expertise. Our course leaders are highly experienced Instructors and Coaches: they are CPSA accredited and that means you will be certain of getting the finest training in the UK - wherever you live and work.

We are the only clay target skills learning programme approved by BRITISH SHOOTING ™, the UK’s Olympic shooting body.

Training Courses

Frock Stock and Barrel now offers, in addition to our normal coaching services, the CPSA certificated Shotgun Skills courses. This will mean you can prove to anyone that you have completed a structured competency, safety and skills course that is recognisable by the sport's governing body and affiliated, registered clay shooting grounds. It cover all the important and necessary information you need to know when learning how to Clay Pigeon shoot and most importantly when applying for a shotgun certificate.

This is a wonderful way to learn the art of Clay Pigeon Shooting and shotgun ownership, whether you are an individual, family, friends or schools and colleges. The course is very easy to follow in its modular structure and all three modules are run over a full day.

We take 3 persons on the course in any one day, to allow one-to-one tuition. We can offer facilities if you wish to book a larger group with additional Tutors.

Modules 1 and 2a and 2b Combined Day Course

Module 1 – Discover Clay Target Shooting

Includes:

Approx 2-3 hours instruction
Safety on and off range
Shotgun handling
How to hit a moving target using the CPSA “Method”
CPSA Academy Qualification Logbook
Gun hire, up to 25 cartridges and clays
All safety equipment
Insurance
Certificate and logbook on completion

Module 2a and 2b – Shotgun Skills Course

Includes:

Approx 4 hours instruction
Gun fit
Eye Dominance
CPSA “Method” in full detail
Cartridges, proofing, types of shotguns, cleaning & maintenance etc
All safety equipment
Insurance
Gun hire, up to 75 cartridges and clays
Certificate and cloth badge on successful completion

Complete all 3 modules in one day, includes; lunch, refreshments, certificates, cloth badge and the Clay Target Shooters Handbook (worth £15.00).
